Dear 12-year-old

Dear 12-year-old,
Stop caring about what people think of you. You might not understand now, but trust me. People might think you are weird, or they might call you uncool. Just remember, those adjectives are subjective. They are only dependent on what the person saying them thinks. Start creating that iron gate around your mind that only lets complements and critical advice affect it. One day, you will find the crowd that understands you for who you are. Always remember, you are you, and no one should change who you are.
Also remember you are a kid. Soon, you are going to have to start worrying about what you want too do with your life. Now, enjoy the time you have playing with your friends. You should go be with your friends and have a childhood while you still can. I am still trying to be a child even though school is taking over my life. Also, you should not hate school. School is place for you to experience new activities and learn. It might be a hassle at first, but find something interesting that you like and nature that.
Sincerely,
A 14-year-old
