Red Stick Rumble

This weekend, the robotics team went to Red Stick Rumble. If was a couple minutes before the final match. Rohit, a team member, was looking under the robot that was turned on its side. I crouched next to him, watching carefully as he replaced the rivets that were worn out. The announcer suddenly came on and said,"One minute remaining." I stood up, and then proceeded to help get the robot back on its wheels.  After that, Rohit started pushing the robot over towards the wall. A part of the robot has to be touching the wall near our driver stations when the match starts. This would be the second match of the final series (We were up 1-0). The drive team got into position behind our driver station. The match was soon to start.      The announcers announced all of the teams that were playing. When our alliance members were called, then we were called. Our drive team consisted of Marcus who was up in the air ship piloting Thomas who was throwing gears, and Rohit who was drivi

Eldest: Christopher Paolini

The book I am currently reading is Eldest  by Christopher Paolini. Currently, Eragon is on his way to Ellesméra, where he will continue training on to be a Rider. Eldest  also tells the story of what is going on with his adopted brother/cousin, Roran. Roran is being hunted because he is related to Eragon. This choice is new and interesting. In the previous book in the series, Eragon , the story is only about Eragon. Roran was in the story in the beginning, but he wasn't a main character. I am interested to see how this plays out for the rest of the book. I don't see the author doing this if he never intends for the two characters to meet.      In Eldest , there are three main races: dwarves, elves, and humans. Each of these races has an opposition to king Galbatorix. The King hunted the elves, so they all oppose him. The dwarves are mainly peaceful, but the king approached their land. The humans live under his authority, but some don't like him. Each of these races tr

Saad: My Summer Vacation Evan: About Him

Hello World

Hello world, I am Gregory, and I welcome you to my blog. I enjoy playing video games like Overwatch, Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, and Battlefield 1. Out of these games, my favorite is Overwatch. I also enjoy watching TV shows like The Flash. I love theorizing about my favorite TV shows, games, and movie franchises. I am part of the robotics club, and I program in Java and C# when I am really bored. I enjoy being around new technology, so if you have a problem, just ask me.      I am really looking forward to English this year. In the past, I have struggled with creative writing tasks. From what I have heard about this course, it seems that I will have a chance to improve my creative writing skills. I would also like to improve my writing in general. I think that this course will help me accomplish that task. I would also like to improve my analytical abilities. The blogs about reading will most certainly help me towards that goal. Overall, I am looking forward to this class for the

War of the Worlds H.G. Wells

During the Summer, I read the well-known science fiction book War of the Worlds by H.G. Wells. This novel is about the invasion of Martians on Earth. One thing I loved about this book is how much effort went into describing the Martians as a species. The Martians are described as one hundred foot tall creatures with tentacles. In the novel, there is an entire chapter solely devoted to analyzing and describing the Martians. I haven't read another book that devotes a whole chapter to analyzing and describing the main antagonist. I could understand why some people might not like this because it takes away from plot development, but I enjoyed reading and learning about the adversary.      As I was reading, I wondered why H.G. Wells left the narrator unnamed. At first this confused me because the narrator was apart of the action the entire time. I have never read a novel that leaves the main character without a name or title. Also, the book never gives a description of the prota
